Surah Lahab

Introduction

Surah Lahab is present in the 30th Parah of the Quran. Surah Lahab is the 111th surah (chapter) of the Qur’an. This surah has five verses, 20 words, and 77 letters.

Place of revelation

Surah Al-Lahab was revealed in Makkah.

The reason for naming Lahab

Lahab means flame of fire. Abdul Azza, a son of Abdul Muttalib, who was a very white and handsome man, his surname is Abu Lahab. In the first verse of this surah, the word Abi Lahab is present. For this reason, it is called Surah Al-Lahab. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) invited the Arabs to Mount Safa, and people came from all sides. And the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) took the testimony of his sincerity and trustworthiness from them and said: اني لكم نذيربين يدي عذاب شديد Abu Lahab said to the Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace), That you may perish, Did you gather us for that?
This Surah was revealed to him and Allah Almighty responded on behalf of the Holy Prophet (PBUH).

A few things are known from Surah Lahab

No. 1 The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) is the most beloved servant of Allaah
That Allah Almighty answered your insolence. We can even say that the Sunnah of the Prophet is the answer to the enemies of God and the answer to the enemies of the Prophet is the divine Sunnah.

No. 2: What kind of nonsense did the disbelievers say to the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him)? You are doomed (May Allah forgive). The same answer was given by Allah Almighty and brought the wicked to this end. This is also a proof of the love of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him).

No. 3 & 4: The Holy Qur’an describes the punishments of all criminals. The most severe punishment is for the arrogance of the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him).In the Holy Qur’an, he sometimes said about it humiliation, that is, the product of immorality, and sometimes he said, “Abstract, that is, cut off and deprived of good,” and sometimes he said, تبت یدا ” be destroyed,” and sometimes he said, “Allah will never forgive them.” Just as the rewards were given for the literature and reverence of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), they were not given for any other form of worship.

No. 5: The nobles, the self-respecting, and the wealthy were humiliated by the opposition of the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him). So what to ask others?

Main Theme Of Surah Lahab

Translation Of Surah Lahab

 بسم اللہ الرحمن الرحیم
In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
 تَبَّتْ يَدَا أَبِي لَهَبٍ وَتَبَّ
Abu Lahab, may both your hands be destroyed and he is already destroyed.
مَا أَغْنَىٰ عَنْهُ مَالُهُ وَمَا كَسَبَ
His wealth and earnings did him no good
  سَيَصْلَىٰ نَارًا ذَاتَ لَهَبٍ
Now, will enter the flaming fire
وَامْرَأَتُهُ حَمَّالَةَ الْحَطَبِ
And his wife, the bearer of the firewood,
فِي جِيدِهَا حَبْلٌ مِّن مَّسَد
Upon her neck a rope of twisted palm-fiber.

Tafseer Of Surah Lahab

“Abu Lahab, may both your hands be destroyed and he is already destroyed”

In Tafseer Sirat al-Janan, Abu Lahab’s name is Abdullah. He was the son of Abdul Muttalib and the uncle of the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him). He was a fair and handsome man, so his surname was Abu Lahab and his sons were Utbah and Utaybah. the daughters of the Holy Prophet were Hazrat Ruqayyah and Hazrat Umm Kulthoom. After the revelation of this Surah, Abu Lahab divorced these daughters. The incident of Utbah is very disturbing. Utbah insulted the honor of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) after divorcing the daughter of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him).

The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) prayed for him to be killed, so he was killed by a lion on a journey despite having great protection. In this verse, the death of Abu Lahab with both hands means his personal death, and in this blessed verse, the death of Abu Lahab is predicted, so he died the worst death, and a week after the battle of Badr, he died of black spot. The Arabs used to call it Idsa. The Arabs used to avoid it because it was considered a bad disease. The Arabs considered it a bad disease and avoided it. So her body lay there for three days, bursting and began to stink, then she would be paid and thrown away by the laborers.

“His wealth and earnings did him no good”

Tafseer al-Sirat al-Janan says that when Abu Lahab heard the first verse, he said, “Whatever my nephews say, I will redeem my property and my children for my life.” Wrong, nothing works at the moment.

“Now, he will enter the flaming fire”

That is, Abu Lahab will enter Hell after the Day of Resurrection and will be tormented by the blazing fire. This shows that Abu Lahab is sure to be in Hell.

“And his wife, the bearer of the firewood”

The commentary is in Sirat al-Janan. Amee Jameel bint Harb bin Umayya Abu Sufyan’s sister had enmity towards the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) and reached this extreme in enmity towards the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) despite being a very rich and big woman. She used to put a bundle of thorns on her head and put it in the path of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) so that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) and his companions would be harmed. And the suffering of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) was so dear to hir. That she did not want to get help from anyone else in this work.

“Upon her neck a rope of twisted palm-fiber”

In Tafseer Sirat al-Janan, Amee Jameel used to have a rope made of palm bark around her neck with which she tied a bundle of thorns. She was going to a new era when she was tired and rested on a rock. An angel pulled the bundle from behind by the command of Allah. And she was hanged by that rope, and then she died. She tasted torment even in this arrogant evil world. And in the Hereafter the torment will come. In the Hereafter, he will have chains of fire around his neck and a bundle of Hell wood on his back.
